CENTURI Summer School

Reverse engineering biological networks: from data to biology and back ─ June 25th - July 4th 2018 | Luminy Campus

The CENTURI Summer School provides an original learning experience exploring the main challenges in systems biology with interdisciplinary questioning - an exciting opportunity to interact with expert scientists.

The Turing Centre for Living Systems is organising its first Summer School in Marseille.

This event will be an opportunity for engineer students, Msc and PhD students to meet and work together in an interdisciplinary environment.

Reverse engineering biological networks: from data to biology and back

This Summer school will introduce major open questions of systems biology and provide the unique experience of addressing an important question in biology through the use of state-of–the-art techniques for analyzing and modeling data sets.

The training is based on morning lectures and afternoon teamwork experiments. Courses and seminars will be held in the three main Centers for Biology Research:

These international leading institutes are located in the Luminy Campus nearby the spectacular panoramas of the Calanques along the Mediterranean Coast. The training will also be hosted by the Fresnel Institute.

5 topics will be covered during the training:

• data science
• immunology
• neuroscience
• developmental biology
• optics

Who can apply ?

The CENTURI Summer School welcomes engineering, Msc and PhD students in physics, mathematics, biology and computer sciences.
This Summer School will welcome 25 students.
Applicants should have some experience using MatLab and Python. Each student should bring a laptop computer.
