Before Leaving
If you are a student of the European Union or the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, and the 27 EU Member States) you need a valid identity card.
As non-European, non EEA student you need a visa.
Centrale Marseille is a member of the “Etudes en France” framework. You have to register on the platform Etudes en France here : https://pastel.diplomatie.gouv.fr/etudesenfrance/dyn/public/authentification/login.html .

In order to get the most precise information about the visa, go to https://france-visas.gouv.fr . You will be able to proceed a request directly from this platform.
As a student coming to Centrale Marseille in the frame of an inter-institutional agreement, you will be delivered a “Visa Long Séjour valant Titre de Séjour – Mention Etudiant”(VLSTS - students). This document as a duration of one year.
This VLS-TS – student enables you to travel all around the Schengen (and once validated, all around the wold), to work for 20 hours a week, to get the accommodation allowance “CAF”.

Validate your visa through https://administration-etrangers-en-france.interieur.gouv.fr within three first months of stay.
You therefore need to have :
- a valid electronic mail address -
- information indicated on your visa
- your date of arrival in France
- your address in France
- a credit card to pay the fees (if your card does not work, you can buy an electronic stamp here https://timbres.impots.gouv.fr/index.jsp (Titre pour étrangers) or in a tobacco shop).
By Plane
MARSEILLE-PROVENCE
To get from the Marseille-Provence airport (Marignane) to the city center, you can take a taxi (official or Uber) or a shuttle. The price for the taxi vua Uber is around € 60. The shuttle arrives at the main Marseille railway station (St. Charles) and runs everyday from 6 a.m. to 10.50 p.m. (every 20 minutes). The duration of the trip is 30 minutes, and the fare 7 €.
